Custom Cavities
MRF provides specific shapes and dimensions for sample/melt cavities in the hearth plate. This is provided at no additional cost with placement of order on all of our Arc Melting Furnaces.
Crystal Growing Kit
Equips our systems with a high precision motion system and crucible for Czochralski crystal growing. The crystal pulling speed is adjustable and controls accurately as low as 0.001”/min. (0.025mm/min). Seed rod rotation motor is also provided and has an adjustable speed from 0-30 rpm. A rotating crucible is also available. This kit allows growing of single crystals up to 4″ tall. Volume of crystal depends on the crucible size.
High Vacuum System
Diffusion pump or Turbo pumping system allows for lower vacuum levels in the chamber for more pure environments. For our Arc Melting Furnaces, high vacuum systems include vacuum pumps, vacuum gauge, manual vacuum valves, readout and start/stop switch.
Load Lock
Allows additional melt material to be added without opening the chamber. The load lock contains additional melt materials in powder or granular form, and a push rod allows material from the lock to be pushed into one of the crucible cavities during operation without changing the chamber atmosphere. A load lock provides the opportunity to produce larges sample buttons with limited preparation time
Rotating Hearth
Allows the melting area to rotate while being heated to obtain a more uniform melt. Adjustable rotational speed. Available on arc melt furnace SA-200 or TA-200.
Button Flipper
Allows melts to be rotated and physically manipulated without opening the chamber. This allows bigger melts to be melted on both sides creating a more uniform melt.
Splat Rod
Spring-loaded rod allows molten material to be dispersed quickly resulting in extremely fast cooling.
Three Arcs
Adds two extra stingers to the chamber. Three arcs can be used simultaneously to melt a sample, allowing a greater area to be more uniformly melted.
Vacuum Casting Chamber
Adds a cavity that allows melts to be poured into a conical water cooled cavity with a vacuum port which pulls the material into the mold. This allows melts to be cast into a specific shape.
Gas Purifier
For extra pure gasses, the gas purifier removes impurities from the supply gas to below 1 part ber billion (1 ppb) for a large amount of substances.
Oxygen Monitor
Monitors Oxygen content of the inert gas supply or sample gas from the chamber allowing the user to observe and quantify the oxygen content within the arc melt chamber.
Water Chiller
Recirculating cold water chiller eliminates the requirement to have continuously flowing city or well water for furnace cooling. The water chiller has a circulating pump and refrigeration unit sized for the furnace to provide a complete cooling package for more economical and environmentally friendly operation.
